Chances are, you’ve been a little less active this year with quarantine. I had a chance to catch up with Bluprint member Tok to ask what helped him avoid the dreaded “Quarantine 15” and here’s how his story goes. Tok, like many busy professionals, fell into a slump in his adult life. He found himself in a routine that consisted of: on & off workouts, poor planning, even poorer eating and drinking habits, and the lack of written goals. This common and chaotic routine had him feeling some type of way about himself. He knew he could do better for himself and for his family, but needed some direction. At Bluprint Fitness, we provide busy professionals (like Tok) with a healthy, sustainable lifestyle plan they can use to improve their body image and live life proud. Tok explained that these three parts of the plan helped him get back on...

Why does my coach continue to coach me? “Get off my back and just let me do fitness. I am just here to get a good workout – I don’t have to move perfectly to get a good sweat on.”  Some might say we are different at Bluprint Fitness… The coaches are ALWAYS giving feedbackThe team progresses athletes in a way that creates long-term results rather than a short-term fix.The coaches are picky with form. The team cares more about “how” you move than how “hard” you WOD.  We provide busy professionals with a healthy, sustainable lifestyle plan they can use to improve their body image and live life proud! Now, we all know that common feeling… That feeling of frustration we get after a month and a half of eating, drinking, staying up too late, and making decision after decision that doesn’t quite align with our goals. What if we came up with a plan this year, that turned that frustration into a feeling of pride following the holidays because we game planned strategies that allowed us to make decisions that aligned with our goals without giving up all the fun stuff! As the holiday season approaches I want to challenge you. Challenge you to approach the holidays a little differently this year. So here’s what I’m thinking… Let’s focus on three things this holiday season that will keep us on track and give us a head start on next year’s goals: 1. Drink Water: No I’m not saying don’t have your booze or your hot apple ciders, I’m saying...

“What’s a training plateau?” A training plateau is when results slow down a lot, stop, or go backwards on the way to specific goals. A training example would be if your ultimate goal is the deadlift 300 lbs, but for the last year you’ve been stuck around 265 lbs on your best day. A body composition example would be if your ultimate goal is to reach 15% body fat, you saw some great progress when you first started, but that progress stopped and you’ve been hanging around 18% body fat for the last 2 years. You get the picture. It’s when the GAINZ stop rolling in. Now if you’re like me, you don’t like this feeling. You like the feeling of success.  You like the feeling of getting closer towards your goals on a regular basis. Building it brick-by-brick. So how do we prevent or break through training plateaus? The...

So as long as you:  Show up consistentlyFollow the programTake pride in how your movements lookTake care of yourself outside of the gym YOUR GAINZ WILL COME. With that being said, it’s still important for you to have some general goals that you revolve your workout decisions around.  For example, if you have been trying to focus on strength recently then you should pick options in your workouts that support that. So if the Rx weight is 95 but the Rx+ is 135, have a conversation with yourself to decide which option...
