Before starting at Bluprint Fitness 2 years ago, Dan had a problem. He had plateaued both physically and mentally with his fitness and was losing self-confidence because of it. He felt defeated, and soon fell into a “why bother” mentality…which we all know isn’t fun. But D Wade, being the baller he is, took a leap of faith and joined Bluprint Fitness and soon realized there was more to health & fitness than boring routines and stalled results. I think we can all agree that this has been quite a year…unforgettable for many reasons. It is safe to say, I will walk away from 2020 with a completely different mindset and outlook on life. Here are my top 3 takeaways from 2020: 1. SLOW down Kind of scary that it took quarantining through a pandemic for me to slow down. I was in such a groove of working and fitnessing that I was losing sight of other important parts of my life that needed some attention. I have a pretty addictive personality and am good at putting my head down and getting into a super focused state of mind. That’s great and all, but I do believe there is more to life, the little things, the fun stuff that was being left behind (aka less of a priority) because there was not enough headspace for it. Am I beating a dead horse? I can’t be. But as the new year approaches, let me use this time to say to anybody who has an injury, imbalance, or anything that nags you during your exercise to FIX IT! Please take 3 steps back so you can take 5 steps forward before your body tells you to take 20 steps back and then only take one step forward at a time. I promise you, all of your GAINZ will not be lost. As smart as our body is, sometimes we treat it like it knows nothing. Chances are, you’ve been a little less active this year with quarantine. I had a chance to catch up with Bluprint member Tok to ask what helped him avoid the dreaded “Quarantine 15” and here’s how his story goes. Tok, like many busy professionals, fell into a slump in his adult life.
