Apple Basil Burger
Ingredients
1 lb Grassfed Ground Beef
½-1 tsp Sea Salt
½ tsp Pepper
½ tsp Sage
½ tsp Hungarian Paprika
¼ Sweet White Onion (minced)
¼ Gala Apple (minced)
1 Tbs Fresh Chopped Basil
1 Tbs Water
Instructions
Mince apple and onion. Add them to the skillet with 1 tsp of coconut oil or ghee and cook on medium heat until they start to soften (3-5 minutes). Chop the basil and add to the skillet so that is begins to wilt and the flavors combine. Removed from heat and set aside to cool while you are prepping the burgers.
In a mixing bowl, add beef, spices, water and cooled apple/onion/basil mixture. With your hands, mix the ingredients and mold into 4 equal size burgers. Use the same skillet you prepared the apple/onion/basil mixture in and cook burgers on medium-medium high heat for 3 ½-5 ½ minutes per side (covered). Cooking time will be based on desired doneness.
This can also be done on the grill on medium heat.
