Morning Workouts Hit Different

I’m sitting down next to my two-year-old at 9:00am on a Tuesday, thinking about how much has already been accomplished early in the day.

Not by want, but by necessity.

And if you are a busy professional like myself, you know exactly what I’m talking about. That feeling that once the day gets going and you start checking things off your daily to-do list, there’s no stopping that steam engine—especially for a workout.

Enter the morning workout schedule.

Prior to life taking over, being pulled in multiple directions, and being the go-getter that you are, getting your workout done before the day really starts is a secret weapon when it comes to creating long-term consistency and wellness results.

If you are already a morning person, this may not be much of a transition for you to take on. But if you wake in the morning like a bear (Chicago Bear 🐻) stumbling out of hibernation after who knows how long, it may take some baby steps to build this into your routine. Here’s a possible 4-step process to ease into a morning workout routine and setting yourself up to become the best version of yourself:

Step 1: Get Organized
Put out your workout clothes the night before so when you wake up, you’re ready to rock.

Step 2: Set an Alarm
Sounds simple but set an alarm using your FAVORITE song so you wake up with good vibes in your ears.

Step 3: Ease Into Frequency
Maybe you commit to 1x/week in week one, 2x/week in week two, and 3x/week in week three—adding an additional day each week until you reach your happy schedule.

Step 4: Give Yourself Grace
Some days and weeks will be easy. Some days and weeks will be hard. Give yourself some grace in the process. Remember, the goal is not perfection—the goal is long-term consistency. Celebrate your wins and get back on the wagon when you temporarily fall off track.

Disclaimer: Morning workouts are not for everyone, but for busy humans who struggle to find the energy or time for workouts at the end of the day, this could be the missing link to your wellness puzzle.

Let’s get to work!
