“Zak Attack” Herman – June 2023

Biography

How long have you been part of the BluCru?

Since Oct. 2015 (crazy)

What was the problem you were having before you discovered Bluprint?

Finding a program I could stick with on a consistent basis and one that didn’t absolutely kill me, requiring days of recovery after a hard workout.

Take us to the moment you realized what you were now doing was working.

Looking forward to attending class was a major turning point for me.  I used to dread going to the gym but now that I enjoy attending, it has changed my outlook on what a healthy routine should look like and I know it is something that is maintainable indefinitely.  Another turning point was my husband joining.  Being on the same page regarding fitness, nutrition, and our overall lifestyle has paid dividends for both of us.

What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?

Consistency and incorporating a well-rounded approach to fitness, including not only attending class but also food, hydration, sleep, mobilization, and supplementation.  It has drastically improved my energy levels and quality of life.

What is your favorite thing to do at Bluprint?

Gymnastics and powerlifting movements

What keeps you coming back to Bluprint?

The coaches, programming, and above all the people and community.  Attending class every morning feels like hanging out with a group of friends and we all just happen to be working out.

What would you tell someone considering joining?

Bluprint is likely to be vastly different from any other workout routine you have done in the past.  Commit for 90 days, in and outside of the gym.  It’s a short amount of time so you have nothing to lose but you will likely see large improvements over that period of time, and it will give you a good idea of whether it is the right program for you.

What do you do for fun?

Cooking, spending time with my dog, Fritz, and of course, Bluprint!

What’s your favorite food?

Pizza.  As a lot of people in the gym are well aware, we have homemade pizza night every Sunday.

Coach’s Comments

Zak has been named June’s AOTM as he claimed his spot in Bluprint’s 1000+ Class Club this month!

Since joining Bluprint in October 2015 he has been consistently crushing goals. Most recently tackling his first vested MURPH, crushing an easy 75 Burpee Box Jump Overs with no problem, always squatting with fantastic form and mobility, and checking off gymnastics skills one by one. Not to mention, Zak has dropped over 3% body fat since joining and arguably has the prettiest weightlifting shoes every made.

When you see him in the gym – make sure to congratulate him on all his hard work and dedication to the grind!
