Biography
How long have you been part of the BluCru?
I have been a member of Bluprint on and off since May of 2019. The last 18 months I have been very committed to improving my health.
What was the problem you were having before you discovered Bluprint?
Before Bluprint, I lacked the drive and desire to commit. I did not have the confidence to walk into a gym alone and know what to do. I was full of fear and worried i was not capable of change.
Take us to the moment you realized what you were now doing was working.
I remember feeling like I was putting in so much work with no pay off. Then one day I put on a shirt that I had not worn in a long time. it had always been so tight….it had a loose fit when i tried it on. This was the moment i realized change was happening.
What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?
There are many accomplishments I am really proud of. I think the biggest accomplishment thus far is finishing Murph…in the allotted time. This was huge for so many reasons. During Murph training, I ran my FIRST ever mile. For the actual event I ran two miles, and I did all of this recovering from an injury. I went in planning to attempt a half, and shocked myself with a full. This was a pivotal moment in me beginning to believe I’m capable of doing hard things.
What is your favorite thing to do at Bluprint?
I enjoy doing named WOD’s. They are hard, i generally go into them terrified, and I get to leave surprised with what I’m capable of.
What keeps you coming back to Bluprint?
I keep coming back to Bluprint because I love the programming, the community, and the ability to see myself progress and grow. It is also so wonderful that any workout can be modified to meet me where I’m at. Injury, poor headspace, my own mobility issues…none of that has ever been a reason for me to not be able to participate. workouts are always made accessible. without this accessibility, i would not ne able to participate
What would you tell someone considering joining?
I would tell them to allow space to be scared, and then go for it. I would let them know that the coaches help to meet you where their body is at and that CrossFit is for everyone.
What do you do for fun?
I love being crafty, love kiddos, would love to spend every day in the sun near a body of water if I could, and I enjoy a good game night.
What’s your favorite food?
Lentil Soup
