Biography

How long have you been part of the BluCru?

I have been a part of BluPrint about a year and a half now (woah!). I joined one month after moving to Chicago. BluPrint has been instrumental in my success after my move to a new city with a new job and I can’t thank the staff enough.

What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?

My biggest accomplishment is my first handstand ever and first chest to floor push up. Hopefully the pull-up is next!

What keeps you coming back to Bluprint Fitness?

I come back because the support and confidence it gives me. When I master a new movement, hit a PR or have a great workout, I notice the next day I am getting more work done or have more energy.

What is your favorite thing to do at BP Fitness?

As terrifying as it is, I love doing the CrossFit Open at BluPrint. I have now done it twice and each workout is so different, yet I am able to do something I never could before and push myself harder than I have before. Mainly because everyone around me is pushing themselves and your judge is encouraging you to keep going.

What would you tell someone considering joining?

Come to one class. You will notice everyone talking, saying hi, petting Bacon or Bella, encouraging each other before and after workouts. It is an atmosphere you literally cannot find any other gym.

A lot of people are hesitant because of the money. The way I explain it is you are basically paying for a personal trainer monthly. You just need to show up to class. Everything is planned for the day and for a bigger picture of a bigger movement. When you could go to a cheaper gym and waste time not actually getting stronger or having to think of everything on your own. Which in the grand scheme of things, my job makes me busy enough, the last thing I want to do is plan my workouts. I can come to BluPrint and see the workout, then check out mentally and sweat. If you ask me the price is a steal for everything it includes.

What do you do for fun?

Coach high school varsity soccer and volleyball. Teach high school special education. Run, read, travel and CrossFit!

What’s your favorite food?

PIZZA ?!
