Jared Colcord – February 2019

Biography

How long have you been part of the BluCru (Month/Year/Duration)?

8-2017 to present, about 1.5 years.

What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?

I would have to say consistency. For the first year or so, I was coming to class a couple times per week. Then, I would be out for a few days or even a couple weeks. It continued that way for a while. Now, I am going 4-6x per week and made the committed club for the first time in February.

What keeps you coming back to Bluprint Fitness?

The coaching staff is phenomenal. It is an enjoyable place to be. Everyone at the gym is kind, considerate and helpful. Moreover, I am seeing results, something I rarely saw in the 20 years that I worked out on my own.

What is your favorite thing to do at BP Fitness?

The SkiErg 🙂 Truly though, while I do love the grueling endurance workouts, I have gotten better with the heavy lifting and have been enjoying it more and more.

What would you tell someone considering joining?

That it can be a little intimidating at first. However, once you get the hang of it, you realize that you can do all of the things that you saw athletes doing when you first joined. It just takes hard work and dedication. That it is a great community to join. We have fun in the gym. There are also many fun social events outside the gym. Above all, be coachable!

What do you do for fun?

Hang out with friends; explore Chicago, go to festivals, weekend trips to Wisconsin or Michigan. And work out!

What’s your favorite food?

PIZZA!

Coach’s Comments

Jared has really bumped up his attendance in the gym lately and it shows! You will likely find him grinding on the Ski Erg during class and typically getting pumped for his favorite style of workout; the long grueling burners. But don’t let his grind fool you, he also puts in work under the bar starting his year off with a back squat PR of 200#! Outside of the gym he has been dedicated to improving his nutrition choices and focusing on fueling his workouts. When you see Jared in the gym, make sure to congratulate him on all his hard work to kick off this year!
