Jared Colcord – April 2021

Biography

How long have you been part of the BluCru?

Since August 2017, almost 4 years!

What was the problem you were having before you discovered Bluprint?

I worked out consistently, but it was all very random and there was no structure to my workouts. The programming at Bluprint, especially the 6-week cycles, have added that level of structure.

Take us to the moment you realized what you were now doing was working.

Not long ago, I started getting consistent kipping pull-ups.  The first time they came together, I felt like I was entering a new phase at the gym.  Other movements, like kipping toes-to-bar, pistols and DUBS, started falling into place as well.  Each new “first” felt great.

What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?

I would have to say a change in lifestyle. Fitness has always been a part of my life, but it wasn’t necessarily part of my lifestyle. It was something I did to try and stay in decent shape, but it has evolved into much more since joining Bluprint. I’m more conscious of the food I eat, the water I drink, how much sleep I get, how frequently I train and rest, and how my body responds to all of it.  These were things I never considered when I was simply “going to the gym.”

What is your favorite thing to do at Bluprint?

I really enjoy body weight movements, like pull-ups, push-ups, air-squats, and yes, even burpees! I’ve also been thrilled to be able to pick up the 50-pound dumbbell for snatches, hang clean & jerks, box step-ups and even TGU’s!

What keeps you coming back to Bluprint?

I’ve started seeing a lot of progress lately, both in body transformation and energy, which is all about consistency in coming to the gym and putting in the work. The BluCru are a great group of people and I’ve made many friends at Bluprint. And I can’t say enough about the owners and coaches. It is a team that truly cares about each member of Bluprint. Their kindness, encouragement and support has been incredible, and I would not have progressed this far without them.

What would you tell someone considering joining?

That it can be a little intimidating at first.  However, once you get the hang of it, you realize that you can do all the things that you saw other athletes doing when you first joined.  It just takes hard work and dedication.  It’s a great community to join.  And be coachable!

What do you do for fun?

Take weekend trips to Wisconsin or Michigan, go to concerts or festivals, spend time with friends and family, read, play the piano and train!

What’s your favorite food?

Always and forever…pizza!

Coach’s Comments

Congratulations to Jared for securing ATOM! Jared has been a member of the BluCru since August of 2017 and is no stranger to “The Grind”.

He’s consistently working on building better habits with his recovery and nutrition by participating in HoliGAINZ and SOGO and his results reflect that. Since starting at Bluprint, he’s dropped over 2% body fat and earned 10+ pounds of lean muscle!  Over the past year, he’s really stuck to the program (yes, even during the pandemic) and made some serious GAINZ. Most notable being conquering kipping pull-ups, kipping T2B, pistols, 50# TGUs, and even a strict HSPU!

He has most definitely stepped up his game and it shows in his fitness. When you see Jared around the gym make sure to congratulate him on all his hard work and dedication!
