Elizabeth Burkavage – January 2018

Biography

How long have you been part of the BluCru?

Since January 2016

What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?

The individual goals I’ve checked off (Pull-ups! Rope climbs! Handstand push-ups!) are all such mental and physical accomplishments for me, but they’re all components of feeling strong and healthy, which is by far my best achievement.

What keeps you coming back to Bluprint Fitness?

The top-notch coaches, who never fail to encourage and motivate, the awesome community of athletes, the huge variety in workouts and the super clean, organized gym facilities.

What is your favorite thing to do at BP Fitness?

I was originally very intimidated by any barbell work, but now I love practicing many of those movements, building my numbers and seeing growth each week and cycle.

I also have a love/hate relationship with the long, endurance workouts. It’s never easy, but at the end of each one, I feel great and it’s a solid sense of accomplishment.

What would you tell someone considering joining?

Take the plunge!

I was always a lone gym-goer, convinced that I was getting adequate workouts on the treadmill. Bluprint classes push me to work harder, faster and longer than I could ever convince myself to, and the results are clear.

There is no downside to trying it out, and your health will thank you!

What do you do for fun?

I really enjoy trying out new restaurants and breweries around the city, as well as cooking and baking at home. I love to read, and both play and watch sports, especially Cubs baseball and Irish football. If anyone needs a beach volleyball sub, count me in!

Coach’s Comments

Since Elizabeth started 2 years ago she has been consistently hitting the gym for 6am classes. She started strong in the Metcon program – but with some convincing – has recently been killing CrossFit. She can be seen walking on her hands, kipping her pull-ups, doing Chest2Floor and handstand push-ups and hitting Ass2Grass squats. This consistency has not only paid off in performance gains but has dropped her from 25% to 17% body fat! If you see her in the gym make sure to congratulate her on all her hard work.
