How long have you been part of the BluCru?
We started in late October 2018 – almost a year now!
What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?
Lindsay: Pretty much everything I have learned at the gym since starting. I had never lifted weights or tried CrossFit before, so every movement was pretty much new for me. I am really proud of running my fastest mile in years, learning how to snatch, and lifting weights I never thought would be possible. I love telling people that I can back squat them :D.
Dan: Hitting a 200lb PR back squat was a HUGE accomplishment for a guy whose first name was Leg Day, last name Never.
What keeps you coming back to Bluprint Fitness?
Lindsay: The entire program as a whole keeps me coming back to Bluprint. The coaches are motivating and educated, the athletes have become great friends and push me to do better, and the dogs, duh.
Dan: The promise of showing up to good community vibes, awesome coaches and smart programming is what gets me up for 7:00 a.m. class every morning, probably a little bit more than the promise of burpee bar hops. 🙂
What is your favorite thing to do at BP Fitness?
Lindsay: It’s hard to pick a favorite thing to do. I love walking on my hands, I love all the gymnastics movements, and I love snatches.
Dan: Rope climbing!
What would you tell someone considering joining?
Lindsay: I would tell them to dive in and enjoy it. CrossFit is for everyone, no matter your athletic background. You will become stronger, faster, and be surrounded by awesome people.
Dan: Do it – I did, and I thought I had no business entering a CrossFit gym.
What do you do for fun?
Lindsay: For fun, I volunteer at the Chicago Animal Care and Control. Dogs are my life and making the world a better place for them is my passion. I love watching scary movies, doing yoga, handstanding everywhere, cooking, decorating for holidays, playing trivia, listening to true crime podcasts, and dancing like nobody’s watching.
Dan: I play music when I’m not busy between my job and freelance projects, and my wife and I love playing pub trivia.
What’s your favorite food?
Lindsay: Tacos. Lettuce-wrapped burgers. Buffalo wings.
Since joining in October of last year they have been nothing but consistent. Both members of the Bluprint Committed Club, they know what it means to put in work. Lindsay came in already walking on her hands and since has excelled in developing her gymnastics skills – the pistol, the kipping pull-up, double-unders, handstand push-ups, and toes-2-bar. Dan has made huge strides in his toes-2-bar, getting upside-down, hitting some double-unders, and will always be remembered for his strict pull-up version of Murph. We are so pumped to have you guys as part of the BluCru – When you see them around the gym make sure to congratulate them on all the hard work!
