How long have you been part of the BluCru?

I joined in August of 2021.

What was the problem you were having before you discovered Bluprint?

I had finally found that I enjoyed exercise, and got to try all sorts of things like dance and martial arts, but I kept plateauing. I didn’t feel challenged enough going 5-6x a week and my consistency would start to wane. I also got bored of repetitive workouts.

Take us to the moment you realized what you were now doing was working.

My memory is honestly terrible so I can’t recall a specific moment, but I know that it was a combination of these factors that happened at various points:

  • Actually being able to lift heavier and complete the RX or RX+ versions of workouts, not just the scaled versions
  • Feeling destroyed by workouts even 6 months in
  • Hitting new PRs
  • Realizing I missed going to class when I was out of town 
  • Creating my own workouts for vacation…something I never thought I’d ever do

What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?

  • The mental shift of dreaming of things I never thought I could even IMAGINE being capable of both physically and emotionally. You can’t put a price on that.
  • Falling in love with lifting
  • Streak of no exercise-related injuries
  • Building healthy habits 

What is your favorite thing to do at Bluprint?

  • See my friends
  • Anything with the barbell
    • Sumo deadlifts
    • Back squats
    • Bench presses
    • Thrusters 
    • Clean and jerks
  • Partner workouts on Saturdays

What keeps you coming back to Bluprint?

  • The sense of community (I don’t like working out alone) and making new friends 
  • Being challenged
  • Expert programming and injury prevention
  • Constant variety
  • Consistent focuses i.e. 6 week cycles, Holigainz, etc. Always something to improve!
  • I need a healthy outlet for my competitive nature 
  • I actually am making progress on goals that I’ve been hoping for for years, and there’s people around me to support me to stay on track! 
  • The expert brains behind it all…Byron and Janelle!

What would you tell someone considering joining?

  • When you think of it like personal training but in a fun group setting plus more variety, it actually seems like a huge bargain. It’s worth the investment. 
  • And yes, you’ll stop feeling like a silly little beginner lifting baby weights sooner than you think.
  • Don’t worry, it’s not a bunch of CF bros. It’s real, fun people from all walks of life.

What do you do for fun?

  • Biking

Coach’s Comments

CONGRATS to Bex for securing the April AOTM title! Since joining Bluprint in August of 2021 she has lost over 6% body fat – dropping 11 pounds of fat and earning 9 pounds of lean mass.

She recently crushed the HoliGAINZ Healthy Habit Challenge by staying consistent in the gym and working on her nutrition and recovery! Bex is a Committed Club veteran and makes time to work on her lifts by following the Weightlifting Accessory programming during Open Gym. She recently PRed her floor press at 105# and we are excited to see her continued progress in the gym pay off in GAINZ!

When you see her around make sure to congratulate her on all her hard work and consistency.
