Betsy Cade – September 2021

Biography

How long have you been part of the BluCru?

11/2018, 3 years next month (with a short break when I switched jobs and had to adjust my schedule)

What was the problem you were having before you discovered Bluprint?

I was struggling with self motivation. I love to workout, but could always find an excuse not to.

Take us to the moment you realized what you were now doing was working.

My daughter is a night owl and sleeps late in the morning (which works for us). For years, I have carried her to the car asleep and gotten her to school before she even wakes up. I thought she was getting too big and I would have to start waking her up earlier. I would huff and puff to pick her up. A month after coming back to the gym I noticed that I didn’t have trouble carrying my sleeping child anymore. I know the day will come when I have to wake her up, but she can enjoy her sleep now.

What is your biggest accomplishment at Bluprint?

I think my consistency is my biggest accomplishment. With consistency I have been able to lift more weight and gain more skills without injury. It feels so good to start my day off on the right foot, and now I don’t want to miss a day.

What is your favorite thing to do at Bluprint?

Just one thing… I love that it works for me! The atmosphere, the coaching staff and the support from everyone in the gym.

What keeps you coming back to Bluprint?

Everyone truly wants you to succeed, and I see results. I have more energy, my body moves throughout the day with more ease and I feel more confident in myself and what I am capable of overall.

What would you tell someone considering joining?

I would tell them to give it some time, trust the process and embrace the support from the community.

What do you do for fun?

In the spring and summer I love to bike and be outside with my daughter, going to the park, the beach or the pool. In the fall and winter I am a bit of a homebody and love to knit and take ceramic’s classes.

What’s your favorite food?

Pizza or Buffalo Chicken or Buffalo Chicken Pizza!

Coach’s Comments

Congratulations to Betsy for being named September’s AOTM! Betsy has been a member since November 2018 and has always embraced what it means to be part of the BluCru.

She recently completed the SOGO challenge and dropped 2.41% body fat, shed 5.8 pounds of fat mass, and earned .9 pounds of lean muscle. She’s consistently putting in work inside and outside the gym and lives with a no excuses mentality. Not even a sleeping daughter (Grace) can stop Betsy from staying consistent. You’ll typically see Betsy carrying Grace and her basket of dolls during running workouts or doing inchworms with Grace on her back.

Not only is Betsy setting an amazing example, but this type of go-getter mentality is truly what being a Bluprint athlete is all about. When you see her around, make sure to congratulate her on all her progress!
